Terms of service

Kometa is provided by Linda Rian (“we”) as a free, non-commercial project. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use Kometa.

You sign in with a Google account, and you are responsible for what happens under yours. You must be at least 16 years old. Keep your Google account secure — anyone who can sign into it can reach your trips.

Your trip content stays yours. You give us permission to store it and show it to the people you share a trip with, which is the only reason we hold it. You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, and for not putting in anything unlawful, or anything about other people that they would object to.

Bear in mind what a shared trip means in practice: everything you add to one is visible to its other members, including notes and booking references.

• Anyone with a trip's invite link can join it while the link is valid. Share links only with people you mean to.
• Owners and admins run a trip: they can change its settings, invite and remove people, and delete the trip and everything in it.
• If you are removed from a trip, or it is deleted, you lose access to it — including things you added.

Kometa is a planning tool, not a booking service or a travel agent. We do not book, hold, confirm or check anything. Flight numbers, times, addresses and confirmation numbers are whatever you or your fellow travellers typed in, and we do not verify them against the airline, hotel or rental company.

Always confirm the details that matter with the provider who actually holds your booking, and keep your own copy of anything you would be stuck without.

Kometa is early-stage software offered free of charge. We do not promise it will be available, uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it. We will give reasonable notice before discontinuing it entirely, so you can get your plans out.

You can delete your account whenever you like, from your profile page. We may suspend or close an account that abuses the service, breaks these terms, or puts other users at risk — normally with notice, and immediately where the situation calls for it.

Kometa is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for missed flights, lost bookings, wasted costs or any other loss arising from your use of the app or from relying on information in it.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for your statutory rights as a consumer.

If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you keep the mandatory protections of the law of the country you live in, and you can bring proceedings there. Nothing in these terms takes that away — which is why they do not try to impose a jurisdiction of our choosing on you.

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app before it takes effect, and the date at the top will change. Continuing to use Kometa after that means you accept the new terms.
